1.Collection of family stories：
This is a collection of 300 poems and stories recorded by some 37 literary figures of my family ancestry.
Among them, the stories of the Qing Dynasty’s literal prison period and the Ming Dynasty’s resistance to the Japanese are more painful and heavy narratives, suitable for adaptation as game scripts.
This is a record of information about the family grave structure, environment, and family temples recorded during April following a family fieldwork investigation. In modern times and in the modern era (1920-2020), the family members have mainly preserved and restored the family buildings and burial complexes, and there is not much of a storyline. So I will continue to collect more lifelike stories that don’t use painful narratives, but instead use lifelike and heartwarming memories to impress a younger demographic.
This is a temple built by a family of the same name in another area for their ancestors. In China, the extended family (a group of families from different regions that share a common family name) builds temples for their common ancestors and sanctifies them. In subsequent adaptations of the game, family temples will function like “portals” to connect different regions, allowing players to shift in time and space through them.
2.Game Script Outline：
Prologue: Memories of Radio
Chi, a very confused young man who has just graduated, doesn’t know what he should do with his life and is torn between what he should really do. While listening to the radio at night to fall asleep, he remembers that it would be nice to talk to his deceased grandfather. And then his grandfather’s voice does come on the radio.
Chapter 1: Lian’s Little Jar (Modern Times)
The scene shifts, and Chi comes to the time when Grandpa was young, and Grandpa takes Chi to find the original little jar in the old house. Chi realizes that his grandfather had many troubles and pains when he was young, and Chi sees his grandfather’s drowned brother and his grandpa who picked up the goods. Time is frozen in the summer of 1948.
Chapter 2: Mother (Republic of China)
After seeing off his grandfather, Chi hears his grandmother’s voice in the Republic of China.
Chapter 3: Book (Qing Dynasty)
After seeing off Grandma Yan, Chi hears stories about the family book. Since the writing prison, the family literati have been killed and the family’s biographies and writings have been either hidden or scattered.
3.Gameplay:
Players play the game horizontally 2d. The prologue is a purely animated performance. Animation + 2d crossboarding to enhance some details and performances. The game is overall pixelated, with comics drawn in different styles depending on the period.
